Why Trust Dr. Moran?

When dermal fillers are done poorly, you know it. The volume looks artificial, and the skin appears plastic. With nearly three decades of experience as one of the nation’s leading facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Moran is known for her subtle, natural dermal filler results. With Radiesse, she makes conservative corrections that blend with your native facial contours, ensuring results that are nuanced, dynamic – and never overdone.

In addition to helming her private, concierge practice, Dr. Moran is the only female double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Tennessee, and the first female president of the AAFPRS.

She’s also an assistant clinical professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in the department of otolaryngology.

How does Radiesse Work?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved subdermal injectable filler used for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles for both your face and hands. It’s commonly used to treat nasolabial folds (the lines that extend from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth) and to correct signs of facial fat loss in patients with HIV.

The dermal filler is composed of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel carrier. CaHA is composed of phosphate and calcium ions that naturally occur in the body. Initially, the gel fills in the volume you desire. As time goes on, the CaHA stimulates your body’s natural ability to generate collagen – so your skin produces its own filler. Over time, your body absorbs the CaHA, leaving the youthful collagen in place for up to two years.
