Restylane is an FDA-approved family of products used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane and Restylane-L may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years.
Juvederm XC injectable gel is for injection into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, especially around the nose and mouth. FDA-approved, its prime use is for removing nasolabial folds, or “smile lines,” creases of skin which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is also used as a lip augmentation agent, and to fill in hollow places and scars on the face.
Juvederm Voluma XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to 2 years, in patients over the age of 21.
Radiesse is an FDA-approved subdermal injectable filler used for the the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (nasolabial folds). It is also used for restoration and correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in patients with HIV.
Perlane is an FDA-approved subdermal injectable dermal filler used to smooth moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). The primary difference between Perlane and Restylane is that Perlane is structured so that it is better suited for correcting deeper wrinkles.
Sculptra is an FDA-approved subdermal injectable dermal filler used primarily for the restoration or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Facial lipoatrophy is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Lipoatrophy is common among HIV patients.
One of the most important substances to hit the field of facial rejuvenation, BOTOX is the most popular way to reduce facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin can be used as a wrinkle treatment to smooth, frown lines, crows feet, forehead furrows, skin bands on the neck.
Developed in Europe in the early 1990s, Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridum botulinum, the same protein used in Botox injections.
Sun exposure, acne or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred. If you want your skin to look smoother and younger, consider a chemical peel, which uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers.
Microdermabrasion, a less invasive form of dermabrasion, is a superficial exfoliating treatment to brighten the skin. It opens clogged pores and removes dead skin cells that give the skin a dull appearance. This treatment can be effective in treating mild cases of acne. By exfoliation of dead skin cells, microdermabrasion creates smoother, healthier skin in about 30 minutes. This non-surgical exfoliating procedure smoothes and softens skin. Best results are on the face, neck, chest, arms, and elbows.
Laser skin resurfacing, also known as a laser peel, laser vaporization or lasabrasion, uses a laser to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. This removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner one layer at a time. This targeted approach means there are fewer problems with hypopigmentation, or a lightening of skin for procedures such as laser acne scar removal.
The laser beam used in laser resurfacing will remove your outer layer of skin, called the epidermis. It simultaneously heats the underlying skin, called the dermis. This action works to stimulate growth of new collagen fibers. As the treated area heals, the new skin that forms is smoother and firmer.
A new ultrasound treatment, Ultherapy is the only non-invasive (non-surgical) procedure FDA-approved for tightening, lifting, and toning neck, chin, and face skin. Ultherapy uses the safe, time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift—without disturbing the surface of the skin. There’s no downtime, no foreign substances, no radical change. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not yet ready for surgery.
Developed by Harvard scientists, this unique, FDA-cleared, patented procedure uses a targeted cooling process that kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. Only fat cells are frozen. Your healthy skin cells remain, well, healthy. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. Just one hour of treatment per treated area.
The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise.
FotoFacial RF employs a unique combination of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and powerful Radio Frequency energy that act synergistically to enhance the skin. This remarkable and innovative treatment modality has increased in popularity and recognition to the point where it is now one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in the U.S. It uses an ELOS (electro-optical synergy) technology that is FDA-approved for facial rejuvenation. Interestingly, the core technology and the latest advancements in it were all developed here in Silicon Valley.
SkinPen is a medical-grade, state-of-the-art precision tool available only through skincare professionals. SkinPen works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin's natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier.
LATISSE solution is the first and only FDA approved treatment for hypotrichosis of the eyelashes, the medical term for inadequate or not enough lashes. LATISSE is a breakthrough treatment to enhance eyelash prominence by increasing length, thickness, and darkness. Available only through prescription, LATISSE is a once-daily treatment applied to the base of the upper eyelashes. Patients using LATISSE Solution can expect to experience longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes in as little as eight weeks, with full results in 16 weeks.
The same treatment many Hollywood A-listers treat themselves to, medical-grade oxygen treatment is ideal before any night out, special occasion, or just because you want that youthful glow. The combination of oxygen under pressure and modified hyaluronic acid creates a visible result you can instantly see and feel. The application of pressurized topical hyperbaric oxygen increases the absorption of the Oxygen Infusion, which helps the skin retain hydration and moisture and targets dry, dehydrated and prematurely aging skin. The treatment will also target sun damage, brown spots, skin laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, pigmentation, and other skin problematic skin issues.
KYBELLA (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment for contouring and improving the appearance of submental fullness, commonly referred to as double chin. We are one of the first medical practices in the Bay Area to offer this new, non-invasive procedure. Kybella treatments are a series of regular injections of deoxycholic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. It works by destroying fat cells, which are removed from the body through natural processes. Treatments are virtually free of discomfort and don't involve any downtime.
Scar revision surgery is meant to minimize the scar so that it is more consistent with your surrounding skin tone and texture. Although scar revision can provide a more pleasing cosmetic result or improve a scar that has healed poorly, most scars cannot be completely removed.
